Govt sanctions Rs 94.80 lakh for free books

Chennai, June 29 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu government has sanctioned Rs 94.80 lakh for distribution of free books to students studying in unaided schools in the state, an official release here said today.

As announced in the Governor's address, the Chief Minister ordered distribution of free books to all Tamil medium students from class one to 12.

This would benefit 1,28,514 students this year, it added.
