Giantkiller Chandigarh lad Sangwan reaches final in Super Series

Gurgaon, June 29 (UNI) Chandigarh's Shiva Sangwan continued his giant-killing spree overpowering Delhi's Subhash C Rao 6-1, 7-6 to reach the boy's singles final of the Under-16 Super Series Tennis Tournament here today.

Sangwan, who scored an upset win against top seed state-mate Parul Verma yesterday, will meet Kaza Vinayak Sharma of Andhra Pradesh who beat Suraj Desai of Gujarat 7-5, 6-1 in the other semi-final.

In girl's section, Tanvi R Shah of Maharashtra got the better Garima Vatwani of Delhi 6-4, 6-2 to set up a final showdown with M Divija of Andhra Pradesh who edged out Deepana Vazirani of Maharashtra 6-1, 6-3 in the semi-finals.

Meanwhile, pairing with Parul Verma of Chandigarh, Delhi's Dhurv Gurwara clinched the boy's doubles title beating the pair of Shatanu Rajpoot (Delhi) and Gitesh Awastih (Gujarat) 6-7, 6-2, 6-1.

The girl's doubles title went to Garima Vatwani (Delhi) and Tanvi R Shah (Maharashtra) pair who beat M Divija (AP) and Rishika Sunkara (Delhi) 6-4, 3-6, 6-1.
