Corporation Bank institutes ''SME Awards''

Ahmedabad, June 29 (UNI) In a bid to encourage entrepreneurship in the Small Medium Enterprise (SME) sector, the public sector banking major Corporation Bank today announced institution of ''The CorpBank SME Awards''.

The Corporation Bank executive director K L Gopalakrishna told reporters here today that all small scale industrial units and medium enterprises are eligible to apply for the SME Awards.

Mr Gopalakrishna said the awardees will be selected by a special committee constituted for the purpose. The committee will assess the entries using the triple bottom line concept and weightage will be given for the performance of these units in relation to the ''Economic, Environmental and Ethical'' dimensions.

The shortlisted units will be visited by the expert committee.

The final selection will be made by a jury comprising eminent personalities from various fields.

The last date for receiving applications is July 15. The names of the awardees will be annouced on August 31 and the awards will be presented during September this year.
