CAB to react on receiving letter, Prasun calls it unfortunate

Kolkata, Jun 29 (UNI) Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) today said it would react as and when it will receive the letter from the BCCI withholding all subsidies and payments to it.

''Let the CAB first receive and go through the letter. Then it will react appropriately,'' CAB president Jagmohan Dalmiya told UNI here tonight.

A letter had been shot by BCCI secretary Niranjan Shah that pulled up the association for failing to furnish details of the amount transferred to its account from the Bhawanipur Branch of the Indian Overseas Bank in Kolkata by Dalmiya from 1995 to 2006.

Reacting to the incident challenger to the CAB president's postand City Police Commissioner Prasun Mukherjee said, ''I can't comment before I see the contents of the letter.'' ''But if it has happened, it is very unfortunate for the state association and shows the state of affairs here,'' he added.

Shah said the Board decided to debit to the CAB Rs 40 crore as Dalmiya failed to furnish details of Account No 1223 with the Bhawanipur Branch.
