London, June 29 (UNI) Wimbledon woes continued for India and after Sania Mirza's ouster from the singles event yesterday, Mahesh Bhupathi and his German partner Alexander Waske faced round one exit in doubles at the All England Club here today.

The 13th seed Indo-German combine faltered at the crucial moments and went down 6-7 (2), 3-6, 6-7 (7) to the unseed pair of Canadian Frederic Niemeyer and Glenn Weiner of the United States.

After losing the first set on tie breaker, Bhupathi-Waske surrendered 3-6 in the second and were looking down the barrel of the gun.

They fought to stay in the match and stretched the decider to the tie breaker. However, Niemeyer-Weiner held their nerves and serves to win the set and the match.
