Adaptability to change for corporates: Management expert

Hyderabad, June 29 (UNI) Satyam Computers Vice-President Sanjiv Varma today observed that success for any organisation depended on recognising change well ahead of time and effectively respond to it.

Delivering a talk on ''Change management,'' organised by the Nasscom Emerging Companies Forum, he said ''it will be easy for nimble-footed organisations to initate change quickly unlike well-established ones.'' Change management was a very critical factor which could be used to combat uncertainities and achieve success.

''Companies don't just have to manage change but they have to sell it to achieve success,'' he said adding that ''unless we communicate what is there in it for all of them, it will not be possible to implement it.'' ''Change happens whether one like's it or not. So anticipate it, monitor it, adapt to it. Companies should be ready to change quickly and enjoy it, he suggested.

NASSCOM Regional Director felt that in today's competitive global market environment, the magnitude of change is unprecedented.

While it is not possible to predict the future, it is possible to identify market trends, which is one to take advantage of change and convert risks into opportunities.

''Successful organisations identify changes much ahead of curve and identify various drives of change and essential dimensions of organisational change,'' he pointed out.
