Viral fever cases on the rise in Yavatmal
Yavatmal, June 28 (UNI) There has been a rise in viral fever cases in this district and incidence of chikun guniya has not been ruled out.
According to Government Medical College Hospital dean Dr Ajay Kevilya, the inflow of patients with suspected Chikun Guniya has seen a rise in the last three to four days and at least 60 to 65 patients of viral fever are being treated in the OPD every day.
About 40 patients have been admitted and blood samples of 16 patients have been sent to Pune for testing.
However, Dr Kevilya pointed out that incidence of chikun guniya, if any, would be confirmed only after receiving the report from Pune.
Far flung villages in the district have also reported a rise in viral fever. There have been reports of a few deaths due to viral fever. A girl from village Waghapur had succumbed to viral fever two days back.
