Umrigar stable, to undergo second phase of chemotherapy tomorrow

Mumbai, June 28 (UNI) The condition of former India cricket captain Polly Umrigar, who was readmitted to the Bombay Hospital following complaints of high fever, was stated to be stable.

Dr Ashish Tiwari, spokesperson of the Bombay Hospital told UNI here today that Umrigar had been readmitted to the hospital to undergo the second phase of chemotherapy.

Umrigar had been admitted to the same hospital earlier this month and has been diagnosed with cancer. The 80-year-old has already undergone the first phase of chemotherapy and the second phase will begin tomorrow.

Dr Tiwari further said the cricket legend was doing fine and was supposed to undergo chemotherapy today itself but the same was postponed for a day till tomorrow.

Dr Tiwari also said there was nothing to worry about Umrigar as he was stable and was responding to the treatment being administered.
