Two naxalites arrested
Pathalgaon, June 28 (UNI) Two suspected naxalites were arrested when they had gone to collect 'protection money' from a contractor at Kalmora village in Chhattisgarh's Jashpur district, police said today.
On a tip-off, police cordoned off the village on June 26 and arrested two naxalites -- Kamlesh Toppo and Ratan Lakra. However, two others managed to escape.
Superintendent of Police Hemkrishna Rathore said the naxalites admitted to looting Rs one lakh from a bank at Sukhrapara near this district.
Mr Rathore said a countrymade gun, cartridges and Rs 5,700 were seized.
