Tributes paid to Narasimha Rao on his 86th birth anniversary
New Delhi, June 28 (UNI) Tributes were paid to former Prime Minister P V Narasimha Rao on his 86th birth anniversary today.
Former Prime Minister I K Gujral led a host of dignitaries, including former Election Commissioner G V G Krishnamurthy and All India Anti-Terrorist Front President M S Bitta, in paying floral tributes at Mr Rao's portrait at a function organised by P V Narasimha Memorial Committee here.
While a garland was sent on behalf of President A P J Abdul Kalam, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress President Sonia Gandhi sent special messages.
A special all religion commemmorative prayer meet was held on the occasion.
Mr Rao's sons -- Ranga Rao and Rajeshwar Rao -- besides a many of his Telugu admirers were also present.
