TEA president appeals for better export policies
Tirupur, June 28 (UNI) Tirupur Exporters Association (TEA) has appealed to the Centre to consider the points given by the Chinese textile export market to compete with them in the international market.
In a statement released here yesterday, TEA President A Sakthivel said that China has better infrastructure facilities and the same should be provided to the Indian garment exporters to compete with them.
China is following a contract labour system and the workers productivity is 60 per cent more than the Indian garment labours, he added. In case the workers fail to achieve the required production they can be immediately replaced.
The Chinese industry also have the flexibilities in repayment of the term loan and the value added tax (VAT) charged at 12 per cent is entirely refunded to the exporters, Mr Sakthivel said.
He was one of the delegation members visiting China led by the Secretary Union Ministry of Textiles during June 18 to 24.
