Tanishq aims at over Rs 1000 cr business

Kolkata, Jun 28: Leading jewellery brand Tanishq is aiming at over Rs 1000 crore business this year compared to Rs 750 crore in the previous year, its chief operating officer C K Venkataraman said today.

''The eastern region will contribute Rs 150 crore in the turnover this year from Rs 110 crore in the last year,'' Venkataraman said.

Tanishq, the jewellery company under Titan Industries Ltd, is also planning to foray in the US market with a store in the eastern coast of the country by this year, the CEO said.

The company presently exports its products to Middle East and Far East.

''Exports contribute five per cent of the turnover of the company,'' he said.

Tanishq, having 84 retail store chains in 61 cities, has planned to take the number of stores to 115 in the next 2-3 years, he said.

Venkataraman was in the city to inaugurate a ''Concept Store'' having all jewellery collections offered by Tanishq.

The company is planning similar stores in Delhi, Bangalore and Chennai.
