Son of prominent industrialist kidnapped

Ludhiana, June 28 (UNI) The 20-year-old son of a leading industrialist has been abducted from this city, police today said.

According to the police, Vikramjit Singh was reported missing by his parents when he failed to turn up home at their Model Town residence this morning. The police registered a case under section 364 of the IPC and launched a manhunt for the missing youth, who is the son of Ravinder Singh, owner of Frontier Industries, a leading bicycle parts manufacturing unit.

The parents told the police that they had received a telephone call in the morning and the caller demanded Rs one crore as ransom for the release of Vikramjit. The car of the kidnapped youth was found by the police near Alamgir village this evening.
