Shivraj Patil to visit Munabao on July 2

Barmer, June 28 (UNI): Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil will visit Munabao in Barmer district on the borders of Pakistan on July 2.

He will meet the defence personnel posted on the borders and also review the progress of Thar Express which runs between Munabao in India and Khokrapar in Pakistan.

Border Security Forces officials informed Mr Patil would arrive at Munabao on Monday and inspect the activities of the forces. Mr Patil will also inspect the front posts in the area and address the jawans.

He will discuss with the authorities the smooth running of the Thar Express as the number of passengers have increased considerably since it started running in February this year. He is also likely to discuss the halting of the train at Barmer and the proposal to increase its frequency.

He will also touch upon the travel ban of Pakistani citizens on National Highway no 15 in Barmer.
