Set up agro-based industries: APSFC to entrepreneurs

Vijayawada, June 28 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh State Financial Corporation (APSFC) managing director Ajay Kallam today called upon entrepreneurs to establish agro-based industries in this districts.

Addressing the regional business development campaign here, he said industrial growth was below the mark and offered financial assistance to set up industries here.

He said the corporation would provide Rs 80 crore financial assitance to Krishna, Guntur, Prakasam and Khammam districts.

Pointing out that opportunities were umpteen in the manufacturing sector, he said small and marginal industries would support the requirements of major industries.

Emphasising the need for integral growth, APSFC chairman J Rambabu said industrial growth along with agricultural growth was essential to boost the local economy.

In a power point presentation, potential areas in the four districts and the facilities available to set up industries were explained to entrepreneurs.

Besides earmarking Rs 750 crore financial assistance for the entire state, during this fiscal it also entered into an MoU with other banks to grant over and above of Rs 20 crore to establish major industries.

The agro-based industries, horticulture, rice brown, mango pulp, textiles, spinning, readymade garmets, lime stone, paper, pulp boards, leather were identified as important sectors in the four districts.
