Sensex recovers from low-level in intra-noon trade

Mumbai, June 28 (UNI) The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) sensitive index (Sensex) has recovered from the lower level and is currently trading at 10,136.92 points, which is 14 points below the previous close.

Earlier, tracking the weak Asian markets, the Sensex had opened in the red by 78 points. However, strong rally in the auto, power and the cement sectors led the Sensex to bounce back.

All the benchmark markets in Asia were down in the red and Nikkei was down by two per cent in the afternoon trade. All the other markets were down between 0.5 to 1.4 per cent, especially on apprehensions of Fed rate hike.

Major gainers were Bajaj Auto, which was up by 3.26 per cent, BHEL up by 2.24 per cent, Wipro, TCS, Hindalco, Reliance Energy, NTPC, Hero Honda, Reliance Industries and Maruti Udyog were all up between 1.31 to 2.17 per cent.

The losers were Reliance Communications, which was down by 3.91 per cent, HDFC down by 2.56 per cent, ONGC, HDFC, SBI, Tata Motors, Tata Steel, Dr Reddy's, L&T and HLL were down between 0.20 to 2.12 per cent.
