Select metal prices showed upward trend on firm London advice

Mumbai, June 28 (UNI) Copper and brass prices rallied on renewal industrial demand along with firm advice from London Metal Exchange, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange today said.

In ferrous section (per quintal) ; copper heavy and copper utensils prices rose by Rs 500 and Rs 400, respectively, while brass utensils and brass cuttings also went up by Rs 200 and Rs 200, respectively, on sustained heavy buying support by local dealers.

However, aluminium utensils remained unchanged on scattered demand.

In non-ferrous section(per quintal), aluminium igots price also hiked by Rs 100, on lack of offers by stockists, induced by firm advice from LME along with Kolkata and delhi.

But tin slab eased by Re one per kg on poor industrial demand.

Following were the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: copper heavy - Rs 32,500, copper utensils - Rs 26,500, brass utensils - Rs 19,000, brass cuttings - Rs 23,000, aluminium utensils - Rs 10,000.

Non-ferrous metals: copper wire bars - Rs 36,800, aluminium ingots - Rs 13,000, zinc slab - Rs 16,800, lead ingots - Rs 6,000, tin slab - Rs 455 (per kg), nickel cathode - Rs 1,070 (per kg).
