Scattered rains in Rajasthan

Jaipur, June 28 (UNI) Monsoon, though delayed, seems to be knocking on the doors of the desert state as most districts received light to moderate rains over the past 24 hours Aamet in southern Rajasthan received 84 mm of rains till 0830 hrs this morning. Raipur in Bhilwara recorded 59 mm, Gyangarh 54 mm, Samugarh, Viratnagar and Rajsamand 50 mm, Khetri 47mm, Rawatsar 45 mm and Jaisalmer 36 mm rains.

The state capital today recorded a maximum temperature of 35 degree Celsius while the minimum hovered around 23 degrees. With humidity high, the lowered temperatures could not provide relief to the people.

The weather office predicts partly cloudy sky with rains and thundershowers over the next 24 hours for the city.

While the forecast is scattered rains and thundershowers in many places in eastern Rajasthan and at few places in west Rajasthan.

The met officials said the monsoon line has progressed over Bhuj, Ahmedabad, Jalgaon, Amravati, Nagpur, Durg, Ambikapur, Daltonganj and Lucknow and is expected to hit the state any day.
