Save Travancore Cements: Labour union

Kottayam, Jun 28 (UNI) The Kerala Cements Labour Union affliated to CITU today appealed to the state government to take immediate steps to save and modernise the Travancore Cements Ltd.

Addressing a press conference here, Labour Union General Secretary K Anil Kumar and other leaders said the factory was in a crisis and it incurred an estimated loss of Rs 30 crore.

They also demanded legal action against former governing committee members who were responsible for the present plight.

LDF convenor Vaikom Viswan would inaugurate the 36th annual conference of the Union on July two, they added.
