Sahara Airlines files caveat in Supreme Court
New Delhi, June 28: Sahara India Commercial Corporation Ltd has filed a caveat in the Supreme Court praying that in the transfer petition, likely to be filed by Jet Airways (India) Ltd, no relief should be granted to the opposite party widout hearing the caveator.
The caveat was filed by advocate E C Agrawala on behalf of Air Sahara yesterday against transfer of arbitration petition pending before the district judge, Lucknow, filed by Jet Airways.
The caveat has been filed in view of the press statements emanating from Jet Airways sources saying that Jet shall approach the apex court for transfer of the arbitration petition and also the case pending in Bombay High Court.
The present litigation is the outcome of rescinding the Rs 2300 crore deal between Sahara Airlines and Jet Airways vide which Sahara Airlines were to be taken over by Jet Airways.
Sahara India has threatened to file a suit seeking damages to the tune of Rs 2000 crore from Jet Airways for illegally sacking out from the deal.
