Reliance sets world record in Video Conferencing

Lucknow, June 28 : Reliance World (RW), a division of Reliance Communications Ltd, has set a world record in Video Conferencing (VC) by connecting 200 RW locations simultaneously across 10 Indian cities with over 2,350 participant doctors.

In addition, 1,000 more participants joined the VC and interacted through a web cast over the internet, at a panel discussion organised by pharma major Nicholas Piramal in Mumbai.

Over 2,350 general physicians from remote locations in the country participated and interacted with a panel of prominent medicos.

Apart from the world record, the collective knowledge of over 2,350 doctors across India was captured by recording the video conference, question and answer session on a CD, thus creating a strong and powerful knowledge bank on the subject for future referance.

Reliance Communicaions -- a constituent of the Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group -- is India's foremost integrated telecommuications entity with over 21 million Indian and 5,00,000 global individual consumers.

It's corporate clientele includes 600 Indian and 250 MNCs and -- through subsidiary FLAG Telecom -- over 200 global carriers.

The company has a pan-Indian, next generation, integrated (wireless and wireline) convergent (voice, date and video) digital network, that is capable of supporting best-of-class services spaning the entire infocomm value chain.

A research and analyst firm in the conferencing domain, Wainhouse Research, had also acknowledged Reliance's earier event -- a panel discussion for the same company across 84 cities and 190 locations -- as a world record in its weekly online bulletin.
