Mumbai, June 28 (UNI) Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Deputy Mayor Ramesh Medhekar has asked Mumbaikars to prevent mosquiotes from breeding in stagnant and open waters to curb the spread of malaria and dengue in the city.

Mr Medhekar told mediapersons here today that mosquitoes usually breed in stagnant water on terraces of buildings, open grounds or water that is open for too long at home.

He said, if we take precautions, we will be able to control mosquitoes from breeding in such waters by 40 per cent.

He has appealed to the people to keep water buckets covered.
