Pirated books seized, 4 held
Pune, June 28 (UNI) Police today arrested four persons and seized pirated books, including the Harry Potter series, the Da Vinci Code, and the Company of Women, worth Rs 26.73 lakh.
Crime Branch police inspector Vijaysinh Gaikwad informed that following a complaint lodged by New Delhi-based IP Butic Information and Research Institute administrative officer Anil Kumar Ompal two days back, raids were carried out at several places and around 8830 pirated copies of books were seized.
Three of the arrested have been identified as Narendra Dharsi Chanda, Manoj Singh Chunna, and Vinod Kantiram Thakkar. The four have been booked under the Copyrights Act, police said.
