Nine officials of post office arrested in fake currency case
Darbhanga, Jun 28 (UNI) Nine people, including head cashier and six other officials of Darbhanga post office, were arrested in a fake currency case.
Police Superintendent O N Bhaskar said here today that Kamod Kumar of Vishunpur village had withdrawan Rs 20,000 from Laheriyasarai main post-office.
Of this Rs 17,500 were found to be fake.
Later, police raided the post-office and recovered Rs 3.93 lakh of which Rs 93 thousand was found to be fake.
The strong room of the post-office had been sealed and senior authorities had been requested to visit the post-office for proper investigation.
Those arested in this connection were head cashier Liladhar Choudhary, assistant cashier Kashinath Paswan, head postman Bhola Shah, typist Shashi Ranjan Singh, postal emplopyee (all suspended), postal agents Saket Singh and Krishan Kumar Choudhry.
