Nepal's parliamentarians take oath inside the Parliament

Kathmandu, June 28 (UNI) The Speaker of the Nepalese Parliament and other members took oath inside the parliament today, as per the historical House proclamation of May 18.

Speaker Subash Nemwang took the oath of office and secrecy in front of the parliamentarians before administering the oath to the Deputy Speaker Chitra Lekha Yadav, MPs, Secretary General of the House and chiefs of various parliamentary committees.

Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala and his council of Ministers will take oath in Parliament, on Sunday.

Former ministers of the royal cabinet and members of the National Assembly, Yang Kila Sherpa and Dr Roop Jyoti and former minister and MP Badri Prasad Mandal also took the oath. The National Assembly has been inactive since May 2003.

The HoR proclamation had earlier said that all officials must take the oath of office before the special committee of the HoR.
