Lok Sabha MP Adhir Chowdhury allowed to go abroad

Kolkata, Jun 28 (UNI) A two-judge bench of Calcutta High Court today permitted Parliamentarian Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury to leave the country to watch Soccer World Cup in Germany.

The bench comprising justice Amit Talukdar and Justice Dipankar Dutta held that Mr Chowdhury would have to return from Germany on July 17 and submit his passport to the authorities on July 19.

The court passed the order on a plea of Mr Chowdhury seeking permission to watch the World Cup matches.

The MP, accused of twin murder, was on bail and applied for permission before the court after All India Football president Priya Ranjan Das Munshi invited him to watch the World Cup matches.
