Jagson leases two MI-172 helicopters to Arunachal Pradesh
New Delhi, Jun 28 (UNI) Jagson Airlines today leased two 26-seater helicopters MI-172 to Arunachal Pradesh state government.
Built by Kazan Helicopters, MI-172s are the world's largest commercial passenger helicopters, said airline's chairman and managing director Jagdish Gupta.
The twin-engine machines are equipped with sophisticated systems from BAE Systems and conform to international safety standards. The helicopters can fly upto 6,000 metres at a speed of 250 km per hour.
Jagson already has three six-seater helicopters which fly in Himachal Pradesh, Uttaranchal and Chandigarh. It also has three 18-seater Dornier planes in its fleet.
Jagson is the country's first private airline to operate scheduled flights since 1992. It is planning to launch low-cost national operations in coming months.
Having firmed up plans to purchase 20 Airbus A321 aircraft for 1.3 billion dollars, Jagson has launched a global sales representation network with the signing of agreements with general sales agents worldwide.
