Hitachi opens Application Optimised Storage Lab in Bangalore

Bangalore, June 28: Hitachi Data Systems Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi Ltd providing Application Optimised Storage solutions, today unveiled India's first Application Optimised Storage (AOS) Laboratory in the city.

The 5,000 sqft facility would be used for demonstrating the company's world class and cutting edge storage solutions to clients in the country, the company said in a release here.

The AOS Lab would enable Hitachi Data Systems' customers in mission-critical applications to visualise the impact of such solutions on their businesses. It would also help to reduce the deployment time in production terms at the client's site, the company said.

The Lab would feature controller-based storage virtualisation, storage management, performance management and consolidation. It would allow customers to configure and deploy storage infrastructure optimised for their applications, providing them with an application view of the storage infrastructure that was currently missing in such deployments, it said.

Some of the tests such as proof of concepts, stress tests, configuration management, storage management, consolidation and performance management would be offered at the Lab, equipped with state-of-the-art hardware and software. The Lab would be managed by an expert team of professionals, the company added.
