HC notice to Kerala Govt, Minister in 'housing scam' case
Kochi, Jun 28 (UNI) The Kerala High Court today issued notice to Kerala government and Public Works Minister P J Joseph on a PIL seeking Vigilance inquiry into the alleged irregularities in Mythri Housing Project scam.
The Division Bench comprising Chief Justice V K Bali and Mr Justice P R Raman admitted a writ petition filed by Palakkad Municipal Councillor P V Rajesh alleging that government had not taken steps to conduct inquiry.
The petitioner submitted that the audit department had pointed out misappropriation of funds relating to the project.
According to the petitioner, due to the diversion of funds the government suffered substantial loss.
Meanwhile, another PIL was filed before the court today seeking direction to government to take immediate action on the basis of report prepared by the Vigilance Director with regard to the grant given to the Indian Flowering Culturist Association allegedly at the behest of Mr P J Joseph.
