GWPPL sets up largest wheat plant in West Bengal

Kolkata, June 28 (UNI) Ganesh Wheat Products Private Limited (GWPPL) today unveiled its largest whole wheat and rice flour plant at Jalan industrial complex near Kona express highway in the state.

" The plant with a capacity to produce 200 ton per day is going to cater to whole of eastern region and our main aim is to provide fresh whole wheat atta at affordable price in packed form, which is extremely hygienic as the entire process of cleaning, grinding and packing of the product is done by machines, " Purushottam Das Mimani, Chairman of the plant told newspersons after the inauguration here.

" We are all set to expand our horizons to cater to the demand for whole wheat atta in eastern India and have come up with this plant, which is among of the largest in the state to boost our production capacity, " he said.

Mr Mimani said the company had made a gross investment of about Rs 10 crore and the group turnover, however, was more than Rs 60 crore.

The company has over 50 per cent market share of all package products and their products are available in all states in eastern India, he added.

He said the company has already three factories in West Bengal and one in Bikaner, Rajasthan, while two more plants were under construction in the state which would be opened next year.

Mr Mimani also said the raw material(wheat) for the plant will be procured from Punjab and Rajasthan.
