Five extremists arrested in Jharkhand
Ranchi, Jun 28 (UNI) Police today arrested five CPI(Maoist) extremists during two separate raids in Jharkhand's Bokaro and Latehar districts.
Reports from Bokaro said four ultras were nabbed in the raid conducted under Jaridih police station.
Deputy Suprintendent of Police Ashwini Kumar Sinha told UNI that police had information on Maoist activities in Jaridih, Kasmar and Petarwar areas of the district, based on which, a police team raided the area and arrested four CPI-Maoist extremists - Golak Rajak, Sukhdeo Marandi, Ramvachan Manjhi and Mangal Prasad Hembrom - and recovered a countrymade pistol, four cartridges and naxal literature from them.
Among the four arrested, Ramvachan and Golak were involved in expansion of organisation and money extortion in the area.
Another report from Latehar said police arrested a hardcore extremist of CPI-Maoist (MCC) from Balumath police station.
Superintendent of Police Ravikant Dhan told UNI that police arrested Suresh Ganjhu alias Ardan Ji from his native village Chater under Balumath police station.
He was the area commander in Seregera and Tandwa area of Latehar and Hazaribagh districts and was wanted in many cases of murder and dacoity.
