Dental college students calls off strike

Vijayawada, June 28 (UNI) The students of the Government Dental College here who are on a strike from June 16, demanding the removal of Principal, called off their agitation today.

The 12-day stir was called off after the state government issued the transfer order last evening.

The students went on a strike protesting against the alleged harrassment by the principal S J Wesley and lack of proper infrastructure in the college.

The students attended the college after Vice-Principal took charge as acting principal of the college this morning.

Earlier, the students along with Vijayawada East MLA Vangaveeti Ranga met Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy and Health Minister K Rosaiah at Hyderabad and demanded the transfer of principal.
