CM sanctions Rs 15 lakh for refugee camp repairs

Chennai, Jun 28 (UNI) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi today sanctioned Rs 15 lakh to undertake the first phase of repairs and renovation at refugees camp at Mandapam in Ramanathapuram District of Tamil Nadu.

An official release said here tonight that as per the direction of the Chief Minister, his Cabinet Colleagues Suba Thangavelan and K R Periyakaruppan had visited the camp and submitted a report to the him.

Based on report of the Ministers and Refugees Commissioner, the government approved Rs 27.33 lakh for repairs and renovation work of the huts, toilets, roads and also for electrification of huts and street lights in the camp.

The Chief Minister had sanctioned Rs 15 lakh in the first instalment, it added.
