Chatra Parishad criticises state for faulty education policy

Kolkata, Jun 28 (UNI) Charging the state government with pursuing a faulty education policy, the West Bengal Chatra Parishad today announced a month long agiatational programme in protest.

Stating that in the wake of very high percentage of success in both secondary and higher secondary examinations in the state this year, thousands of students were not being able to get admitted for higher studies because of non availability of enough seats.

"This uncertainty might jeopardise the future of these large number of students," state Chatra Prishad President Saurav Chakraborty here today said and charged the state government with not having enough infrastrctural facilities to admit these students in higher institutions in spite of obtaininig enough marks.

Protesting against such callous and indifferent attitudes of the state government the Chatra Parishad had decided to launch a month long statewide agitations from tomorrow, Mr Chakraborty said adding that their protest would include day long dharnas and protest rallies in almost all south and north bengal districts.

Such agitation and protest rallies would continue till July 22 unless adequate stpes were taken to ensure smooth admission of all successful students, Mr Chakraborty said.
