Gulbarga, June 28 (UNI) The police has filed a 1000-page charge sheet against Lashkar-e-Taiba militant Abdul Rehman, who was arrested here a couple of months ago.

Additional Superintendent of Police Ravi Kumar Naik, who led the special investigation team, told UNI here today that the chargesheet was filed in the court on Monday.

He said charges had been framed against Rehman under the Illegal Arms Act, Explosives Act and Prevention of Unlawful Activities Act.

About 50-60 witnesses had been mentioned in the charge sheet, he added.

He said the charge sheet contained information about the militant's futile attempts to carry out terror attacks in the country.

It may be recalled that Rehman, a native of Mumbai, was arrested here on March 30 last and two hand grenades and a revolver were seized from him.

During police interrogation, the militant had reportedly admitted that he had been planning to blast some vital installations in Karnataka and neighbouring Andhra Pradesh. He had also passed on some vital information to Pakistan.

He also said that he had undergone training in Pak occupied Kashmir to handle arms and explosives.
