Cera-Chem to set up new unit in Meghalaya

Chennai, Jun 28: Chennai based Cera-Chem Private Ltd, company manufacturing construction chemicals announced its plans to set up a new production unit in Meghalaya under a joint venture.

Participating in a seminar on 'New trends in concrete technology' here yesterday, Cera-Chem's Managing Director V K Ravikumar said the new unit proposed to set up with an initial investment of Rs 50 lakh would help them to popularise their products in the North eastern region of the country.

He said the company achieved a turn over of Rs 10 crore last year and was expecting a turn over of Rs 18 crore this fiscal.

Cera-Chem General Manager (Marketing) D Ravi said the company with more than 1000 distributors in Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh would double its retail strength from the present number within a couple of years.

Speaking on the occasion Clarkson University Assistant Professor Dr Narayanan Neithalath said the use of construction chemicals during construction would increase life span of the building.
