BJP MLA arrested for 2004 case on sealing of polluting units

New Delhi, June 28 (UNI) BJP legislator from Hari Nagar Harsharan Singh Balli was today arrested following a warrant issued in his name by a court in connection with a 2004 'assault' case.

Balli was arrested this morning from his Subhash Nagar residence in West Delhi, according to sources.

The case related to the BJP MLA having allegedly manhandled government officials, who had come to seal unauthorised polluting industrial units on court's order, while leading his party's protest at Mayapuri in West Delhi in 2004.

A case against him had been registered against him following the alleged assault.

He will be produced at the Patiala House Courts later in the day.
