Atal debunks VP Singh's assertions as 'ridiculous'

New Delhi, Jun 28: Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee today rubbished Jan Morcha leader V P Singh's assertion that he wanted to leave Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Expressing his 'surprise' over the claims of Mr Singh that he was 'disgusted' with the BJP, Mr Vajpayee reputed the claim that he suggested Mr Singh go ahead with some chosen representatives to form his political outfit after he had resigned from Congress in his memoir "Manzil Se Zyada Safar" (Travel beyond the Destination).

"This is not just ridiculous but also far from truth. No such talks have taken place with me", Mr Vajpayee arrested.

He said that he was clarifying the issue because of Mr Singh's assertions in the book was likely to create ''illusions'' and he was only setting things right to dispel such notions.

BJP Spokesman Ravi Shankar Prasad said Mr Singh was in the habit of writing poetry and painting art pieces. ''He should continue with these habits but but restrain himself from writing memoirs.'' he quipped.
