Women sets herself, two children afire

Rajkot, June 27 (UNI) A 28-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide by setting herself and her two sons on fire at her house in Dadvi village of Jamkandorana taluka of the district.

According to police, Rekhaben Rajesh Pipaliya set herself ablaze after setting on fire her two sons -- Prakash (5) and Jaydeep (3) yesterday.

The neighbours rushed the three to Jajmkandorana hospital, where Prakash was declared brought dead by doctors.

Later, Rekhaben and her younger son were shifted to Dhoraji hospital where the latter breathed his last, police said.

The woman with critical burns was then admitted to Junagadh civil hospital where she succumbed to her injuries last evening.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the poor finanical condition led the woman to take this extreme step, police added.
