Wipro gets Automotive SPICE maturity level five certification

Bangalore, Jun 27 (UNI) The Automotive Group of Wipro Technologies has become the first organisation in the world to achieve Automotive SPICE organisational Maturity level five tremendously, enhancing its presence in the sector.

Automotive SPICE initiative included car manufactuters such as AUDI AG,. BMW Group, DiamlerChrysler, Fiat Auto, Ford Werke, Jaguar and Land Rover.

Wipro Technologies Chief Quality Officer Sambuddha Deb told newspersons here that the achievement was a significant one and reinforced Wipro's leadership in quality process. The certification would help our automotive practice to stgrengthen requirements management and reuse programme, offer independent verification and develop innovative solutions. ''Our automotive customers can be assured of a robust product, enhanced functionality and lower cycle times,'' he added.

Automotive SPICE had developed a common framework for the assessment of suppliers in the automotive industry through the publication of the Automotive SPICE process Assessment model and process reference model.

A joint assessment team from Impronova AB of Sweden and KPMG (India) carried out the PATHFINDER assessment. The scope of certification included design, development conversion/porting, maintenance and testing software systems in the automotive domain.

Wipro's automotive solutions group also has significant service offerings for the enterprise IT requirements of automotive OEM's and Tier-1 suppliers. The enterprise group provided solutions focused on customer experience management, collaboration enhancement and comprehensive enterprise IT management for Wipro automotive clients.
