New Delhi, June 27: Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has retained the top position in the rankings of top 20 IT software and service exporters in India, a survey by NASSCOM today said.

Infosys and Wipro stood second and third in the list.

''India's services exports had grew by over 33 per cent in FY06 to clock revenues of 17.3 billion dollar, led by a strong demand and increased traction for traditional services like ADM, new services like EAI and package implementation,'' NASSCOM President Kiran Karnik said.

India has become a hub for global MNC firms for software development, supply chain management and other services and these players are beefing up their presence in the Indian market by investing over a billion dollar and setting up establishments here, indicating a vast and yet untapped market for Indian software companies, he added.

The list did not include companies, such as Cognizant, Accenture, IBM and HP, which are US listed companies but have significant offshore operations in India.

Moreover, companies including Kanbay, Syntel and Intelligroup - all with an India-centric global delivery model but unable to provide India specific revenue details - were excluded from this list.

To prepare the list, NASSCOM sent out a detailed snap survey questionnaire annually to all its member companies, accounting for 95 per cent of the Indian IT software and BPO industry revenue.

Information collected through the questionnaire includes aggregate performance, service lines, verticals and geographies.
