Student leader murdered in Meerut

Meerut, June 27 (UNI) A student leader of Chaudhary Charan Singh University was shot dead by unidentified assailants here today, police said.

Senior Superintendent of Police Navneet Sikera said Sanjeev Gujjar was shot and killed on the Nanakchand Anglo Sanskrit College campus this morning. A property dispute was suspected to be behind the incident, he added.

Irate students pelted stones and forced shopkeepers to down their shutters.

A case had been registered and investigations were on, he added.
