SSC results phobia: Two students commit suicide
Sangli, June 27 (UNI) A student allegedly committed suicide after failing in the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations of the Maharashtra board, while another girl ended her life fearing bad grades.
Police today said - Sandeep Gavade (18), a resident of police lines area in Islampur town of the district, allegedly committed suicide at his house yesterday by hanging himself.
He had failed to pass the SSC tests, the results of which were declared yesterday.
Besides, Geetanjali Kostee (17), of Salgare village in Miraj tehsil, also ended her life by strangulating herself with a piece of cloth as she feared she would not be able to secure passing grade, police said.
However, her result later showed she had passed, police added.
