Southwest monsoon advances

Pune, June 27 (UNI) Southwest monsoon has further advanced into some more parts of north Arabian sea and Saurashtra and Kutch and in some parts of east Uttar Pradesh.

The southwest monsoon has been vigorous in Bihar and active in Saurashtra and Kutch and Konkan and Goa.

In the regions where the southwest monsoon is yet to set in,day temperatures were appreciably normal in some parts of Madhya Pradesh and were above normal in some parts of north west Rajasthan.They were below normal in some parts of Uttaranchal,Punjab and of Haryana They were normal over the rest of the country.

Heavy rains are likely to occur at most places in Konkan and Goa, coastal Andhra Pradesh, coastal Karnataka and Andaman and Nicobar islands and at many places in Bihar.

Heavy thundershowers are likely to occur at most places in Uttar Pradesh and many places in Sub-Himalayan, West Bengal and Sikkim, Gujarat state, Madhya Maharashtra, Kerala and Lakshadweep and at a few places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur. Mizoram, Tripura, Gangetic West Bengal, Orissa, Jharkhand, Uttaranchal, Haryana, Punjab, east Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Marathwada, Telangana, Rayalaseema and interior Karnataka and at isolated places in Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, west Rajasthan, Vidarbha, Chattisgarh and Tamil Nadu.
