Smart shower greets Kolkata on Ratha Yatra day

Kolkata, Jun 27 (UNI) Various parts of the city experienced a smart shower on Ratha Yatra day today bringing respite to the people after last few days' hot and humid weather.

However, the rains could not deter people from pulling the raths on this holy day.

Weatherman predicted few spells of rain in the next 24 hours and the sky would remain partly cloudy.

There was no respite on the humidity front. Met officials said the maximum humidity was 92 per cent and the minimum was 59 per cent.

The maximum temperature was recorded at 34.7 degree Celsius, while minimum was 27.4 degree Celsius.
