Rs 31 lakh ex-gratia for militancy victims of south Kashmir

Srinagar, June 27 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir government has sanctioned an ex-gratia relief of Rs 31 lakh for the families of the victims of militancy in Anantnag district, an official spokesman said today.

He said the ex-gratia relief of Rs 31 lakh would be distributed among the 36 militancy-related cases in the south Kashmir district of Anantnag.

The relief comprised Rs 22 lakh for 22 death cases and Rs 9 lakh for 14 property damaged cases, the spokesman added.

The decision was taken at the District Screening Committee meeting here chaired by District Magistrate, Anantnag G A Peer.

It was attended by senior officials of the Army, police, CRPF and the civil administration, the spokesman said.
