Mumbai, June 27 (UNI) Reliance Industries (RIL) is set to build a robust next-generation polyester business that will go beyond global leadership on manufacturing scale in creating a differentiated polyester portfolio.

Stating this at the annual general meeting (AGM) of the company, RIL Chairman Mukesh Ambani said, ''By 2008, RIL will emerge as the fourth largest producer of polypropylene in the world.'' By April this year, the company has expanded the capacity of polypropelene plant at Jamnagar by 2,80,000 tonnes per year, Mr Ambani mentioned.
