Rice to visit Afghanistan tomorrow to back Karzai

ISLAMABAD, June 27 (Reuters) US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said she will visit Afghanistan tomorrow to bolster President Hamid Karzai as he fights to stem a surge in militant violence.

''This is an extraordinary leader and we're going to back him and back him fully.

''And when he has problems, we're going to sit with him and we're going to find ways to resolve those problems,'' Rice told reporters en route to Pakistan, where she arrived today.
