Pre-monsoon showers lower temperatures considerably in Delhi

New Delhi, June 27 (UNI) Heavy pre-monsoon showers lashed the national capital this morning giving relief from days of oppressive heat and humidity.

The downpour, which started at 0730 hrs, brought down temperature appreciably by about six degrees Celsius from yesterday's 36.6 degress Celsius, and it continued non-stop for almost two and a half hours.

About 52.4 mm rain was recorded this morning and more rainfall has been predicted for the day.

Weathermen predict cloudy sky with rain/thundershowers and possibility of heavy downpour for today.

Monsoon normally reaches the capital by June 29.
