One more yatri dies during Amarnath pilgrimage

Srinagar, June 27 (UNI) One more Amarnath pilgrim died of a heart attack, official sources said today.

With this, a total of 16 pilgrims have died since the commencement of the two-month-long Amarnath pilgrimage on June 11.

Sources said 67-year-old Damjee Jaddo, a resident of Rajkot Gujarat, died of cardiac arrest at Sheshnag on way to the holy cave shrine of Amarnath from the traditional Pahalgham route last night.

His body was brought to the Pahalgam base camp this morning.

Sources said four-five cases of acute gastro-infection were brought to the medical camp at Pahalgam from Sheshnag today.
